I met Jahzel Misner and Corinne Leroux of Something Green Weddings
at the Grassroots Wedding Fair
in January 2010 and was immediately drawn to their table showcasing their stunningly beautiful yet non-traditional eco-friendly wedding cards.
These talented young ladies create some of the most unique and quirky card designs, mostly for a younger market and for people who love indie, grass roots and hipster creativity. "They're not your mother's wedding cards" they told me with a smile and I smiled back. Something Green wedding cards are definitely out of the ordinary; fresh and exciting for people who want to stand out and get noticed.
Jahzel and Corinne have been friends since their late teens and both graduated from Simon Fraser University with degrees in Interactive Arts. They each wanted to make a difference in the world so in September of 2009 they launched Something Green, creating trendy and eco-friendly wedding cards designed to reduce their impact on the environment. Paper for their cards are made from 100% recycled content using 50% post consumer waste, is FSC certified, Carbon Neutral, and can be recycled. The toner is organic and 100% biodegradable.
I'm proud to say that Dandelion Pictures and Something Green have become eco-partners, echoing each other's philosophy towards photography and sustainability...I also love the fact that these ladies take action by continually educating themselves on how to be green, volunteering at green events, and using eco-friendly products, all of which is at the forefront of raising awareness about our world!
here are a few samples from their collection...to see more of their wonderful work and to find out which cards are their favs and why, check out their website at Something Green Weddings
