Profile | Angela Victory, Makeup Artist and Personal Stylist

Angela Victory

Angela and I have known each for a long time, almost 15 years now, and met about the time I began my career in makeup. Since then we have both grown and explored our lives in varying directions, become wives and mothers, and now have come full circle and are back in each other's lives again.

Angela's company is called Visible Beauty and not only is she an amazing makeup artist, she is a very talented stylist and loves teaching women how to find clothing that makes them feel amazing about themselves and in doing so, naturally showing the world both their inner and outer beauty. Angela's philosophy on life is 'based on opening my heart to the joy of beauty - that goodness provides a wealth of happiness and I always live with huge respect of a greater source, a source to which we are all connected.'   This to me as I know Angela, perfectly exemplifies the kind, warm and giving person she is and I'm very glad to be in her life again. Angela see the beauty in everything, which in my opinion is a big reason she is great at what she does. She sees the beauty in people and knows intuitively how to draw it out.

Recently Angela and I worked together on some lovely business portraits of my client Cynthia Roney, featured in the last blog profile.  During the shoot, I did a quick portrait of Angela as she stood in for Cynthia so I could test the light and angle. As you will see from her photo below, Angela is a stunning natural beauty who feels wonderful in her own skin.

Angela and I have more projects on the go so stay tuned for upcoming blog posts!

More about Angela from our recent interview after the jump...

Tell me a bit about yourself...about you, your business and/or what you like to do with your time.
I am a professional makeup artist. I love teaching women how to apply their makeup and recommending products that make them look their most beautiful. I find pleasure in cooking, writing about the food I love, creative beauty-time with friends & clients and living a healthy laughter-filled life with my family.

What did you like best about working with Linda and how have your photos benefited you?
I enjoy Linda’s kind heart and positive attitude. I look forward to working together on photo shoots with Linda; her calmness is a joy to be around. She is a creative and amazing artist; she is excellent at whatever she sets her mind to.

If you could pick one favourite shot Linda took of you/for you, which one would it be and why?
I like the peaceful attitude that Linda captured in my portrait; I felt relaxed and completely myself. She used a natural background, the summer breeze and soft light to create a feeling of ease. With all these elements together the end result is beautiful.

What's new in your life? What's next for you?
My next few projects are:

-A pilot makeover TV show called Runway to reality. I’m creating a beauty-enriched makeup look that gives the lucky client a feeling of wow when she looks in the mirror, while still feeling connected to who she sees. The show stars Sima Kumar, who has been doing fantastic wardrobe styling for the stars for the last 15 years. Her spiritual mind and yoga teachings bring a balance to the show that is missing in so many other beauty makeover programs.

-  I have been working on a food diary for a spiritual journal called the The Cross and Lotus. The recipes are from the 1920’s. I really enjoy cooking and writing about my experiences. I like to modernize the dishes, especially as more of us are looking for a healthier food routine. It’s a very inspiring project that is close to my heart.

- Future projects with Linda!
