In my own personal journey as a mother and a professional photographer, I have come to more deeply appreciate my own family and how precious it really is to capture those fleeting moments that pass us by often unnoticed. This feeling was never more present for me than when my father passed away last summer. We had done some family portraits the summer before, but sadly he was the one taking the pictures! Normally of course it's me taking the pictures so I do have some of him on his own and with his grandchildren, but I was heartbroken that he was the only one missing in the ones of us together as a family.
As a certified family coach, Michelle certainly knows the value of family and how important it is to cherish the moments you have together. It has been a great joy for me over the past year to get to know Michelle and for her to know me. She has become a dear friend and personal coach who continues to inspire me to pursue my joy and deepen my relationships more fully.
I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and her family at Ambleside Park yesterday evening and here are some of my favourites so far. Part of why I love photographing families is that I know that their new portraits will be cherished and appreciated and that when their children look upon them in many years to come, they will actually remember the little moments they shared together - and hopefully the crazy lady who took their picture!
