I'm so very thrilled to feature the very lovely and brilliant Lana Gilbertson. Lana is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee with MNP Ltd. and helps clients resolve insolvency/debt issues. In 2015, over 55% of all consumer insolvency filings in Greater Vancouver were consumer proposals, so it is apparent that her services are of great value in today's world.
Lana is a consummate professional who is extremely sensitive, compassionate and patient with her clients. She offers services that benefit a lot of people in this day and age and her unique combination of personal and professional qualities make her very sought after in the industry. Not to mention her incredible knowledge and expertise in her field.
I've had the pleasure of knowing Lana since 2012 and was very pleased when she and her marketing advisor (also my client) Cynthia Roney commissioned me for her new business publicity portraits. They really wanted Lana's new portraits to of course convey her professionalism, but also her soft side, her human side. Compassion and patience play a big role in what she does and potential clients need to feel that they can trust her, that she will listen and that she can work with them to serve their best interests. That's exactly what Lana does and why she is so successful.
Lana chose my Publicity Portrait Experience because it encompassed a varied of outfits, locations/backgrounds and substantial number of images that she can use in all her marketing materials. For her, it is, and will prove to be a great investment as her new photos will help carry her business and message to her ideal clients naturally and authentically for at least the next couple of years until she either changes her business (doubtful) or what she looks like!
Lana truly shines in her new portraits and we were even able to capture her company's signage in a fun and creative way!
Here are some our favourite portraits from her day plus a little bit about Lana, what lights her up in life and in her work and what's next for her...enjoy!
Tell me a bit about yourself…about you, your business/or what you like to do with your time.
I am a Licensed Insolvency Trustee and partner in MNP Ltd. and manage our consumer insolvency offices in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond and on Vancouver Island. We help individuals and small business owners who are in debt. We consult with them to find the right solution to their financial problems, and we are licensed to administer consumer proposals and bankruptcy.
I feel so fortunate to do what I do because I get make a huge difference in people’s lives. Going through tough financial times and debt is really hard and messes up the good things in life. I get to help turn things around and it’s really satisfying. My work is also very interesting and challenging. I get to solve interesting problems. I get to meet new people every day from different walks of life. The work I do is very engaging.
Linda made it so easy for me to relax and be myself in front of her camera. I have never liked having my photo taken, but with Linda I didn’t want the day to end! The photos came out just beautifully and I am so proud of them. I feel beautiful, confident, professional and uniquely me.
If you could pick one favourite shot Linda took of you/for you, which one would it be and why?
All of them! But seriously, that’s a hard question to answer because each of the photos are so unique and each tell a different story. When I made my final choices I decided to trust Linda and chose mostly her favourites, as opposed to mine. Because of Linda’s immense talent, I was willing to see my best self through her eyes. I’ve never been able to do that before!
What is your philosophy or approach to life?
I’m trying to be more present in the moment but keep my eye on the long game. I’m always thinking about where I want to be in the next 5, 10, 15 etc. years, both personally and professionally. That kind of thinking got me where I am today, plus a whole lot of hard work!
What’s new in your life? What’s next for you?
Two big things are happening for me right now. Most importantly, I am marrying the love of my life, Ryan Connolly, on October 1. We found each other in our early 40s and look forward to spending the better half of our lives together. Secondly, I am launching a new website, lanagilbertson.com, in the next few weeks. This website is meant to augment MNP Ltd.’s national website in my own regional market (Vancouver, Vancouver Island) and showcase me and my team here in our local market.
