Hello and welcome to my blog!

I am a portrait, lifestyle and commercial photographer based in Vancouver, BC and have been in business professionally since 2004. Apart from taking some time in 2008 to have my son Connor and enjoy his first year together,  I’ve been fortunate to work with great clients and am grateful everyday to be doing what I love for a living. My many years of experience working in creative fields – advertising, makeup & hair design, producing and now photography – has given me invaluable skills, including the know-how and ability to adapt well to a tapestry of personalities and situations. My mandate as a photographer is to inspire compassion, sustainable living and social responsibility through the creation of soulful, timeless imagery for clients with a similar vision.

I provide commercial photography for corporate and commercial clients, green entrepreneurs, magazine editorial and notable personalities and services include portrait, fashion and lifestyle editorial for print and web, commercial advertising assignments, portraits for publicity and business, image licensing, fine art sales and commissions. I also provide personal and wedding photography through dandelion pictures, providing eco-friendly portrait, animal and wedding photography for the compassionate and eco-conscious who appreciate the art of preserving memories while minimizing our footprint.

Before becoming a professional photographer, I worked in the field of advertising as an account coordinator and producer and subsequently began my artistic career as a professional makeup artist doing makeup for fashion and editorial clients as well as a variety of celebrities and commercial assignments. As my makeup career flourished over the next ten years, I enjoyed photographing friends, family, places and things mostly as a hobby, all the while honing my skills and developing a photographic style I could call my own.

My keen eye for detail and unique style has since evolved into a strong passion and natural affinity for photography. Mostly self-taught, I feel fortunate to have been able to draw upon the experience, knowledge and expertise of the many photographers and other creative professionals with whom I’ve had the privilege of working as well as various training and education at Emily Carr, Langara College and Focal Point schools.  I love being part of  team and working creatively and collaboratively with clients to produce images that effectively communicate their vision. My warm nature and genuine interest help set clients at ease, making sessions calm, creative and fun.

I am a proud Emerging Talent Member and VP Programming of CAPIC Vancouver (Canadian Association of Photographers & Illustrators in Communications).  Clients include The David Suzuki Foundation, TransLink, Global Television, ET Canada, Mountain Equipment Coop, TELUS, Corporate Knights Magazine, Exro Technologies and WorkSafe BC.
