Profile | Cynthia Roney, ICF Certified Executive Coach
August 27, 2010 by lindamackie

Introducing the first in a new series of profiles of the various people with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working in my career to date including clients, colleagues, fellow industry professionals and people I like and admire.

Cynthia Roney

Cynthia Roney and I have been working together for a couple of months and to sum it up, we were destined to meet!  We were brilliantly matched via the Women’s Enterprise Centre Peer Mentoring Program and so far Cynthia has helped me make a significant difference in my business development.  Already, positive shifts are happening for me as I’ve begun to run my business in a way that propels it forward with weekly business activities and strategies for generating exactly the kind of work and clients that I love.

We did some lovely business portraits of her recently at her home in Kerrisdale. Angela Victory of Visible Beauty designed her hair and makeup, enhancing her natural, sun-kissed beauty while at the same time maintaining her always professional and approachable look.  Cynthia was very at ease with me  -  which you can see from a couple of my favourites shown below!

I’m so pleased and grateful to learn that her new portraits are getting rave reviews from several of her over 2,000 contacts and that some new business may come my way!  Thank you Cynthia for all your help and I look forward to our continued relationship!

More about Cynthia from our recent interview after the jump…

beauty portrait | erin cebula
July 15, 2010 by lindamackie

Recently I had the opportunity to do some fashion and beauty portraits of my friend, client and huge champion of my work, ET Canada reporter and Vancouver celebrity Erin Cebula, at the gorgeous Sugar Studios. We shot in Studio B – probably THE best natural light studio I’ve ever had the pleasure of working in.

I’d photographed Erin before except this time she was especially glowing after coming home from a very interesting and joyous holiday in the sun. Thank you Erin for your trust, patience and gracious beauty!

A special thanks to the creative team -  Zabrina Matiru for her ever-beautiful makeup and hair styling and Deanna Palkowski of Liz Bell Agency for pulling together some truly unique pieces for Erin to shine in.

Thank you Sugar Studios Owner Gina Hole and Studio Manager Christina Culver for such a great experience and for making us feel so at home…we’ll definitely be back!

Guess who's the new VP Programming for CAPIC?
April 1, 2010 by lindamackie

You guessed it – moi!

I’m proud to announce that I’ll be taking on the role of VP Programming for CAPIC (Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Canada). Our current VP Programming, Jackie Connelly of Jackie Connelly Photography, is stepping down as of June, so until then I will be working closely with her to get up to speed with all the cool events coming up for the year including CAPIC Vancouver’s 2nd Annual Portfolio Series, a talk & portfolio consultations from Selina Maitreya, and of course the Annual BBQ.

I’ve been an Emerging Talent member of CAPIC since 2006 and have seen some great things happen within the association.  Although I definitely have big shoes to fill, I’m super excited about taking on the challenge and helping to create lots more fun and amazing events for our members. Wish me luck!

Oldfield Family Photos
March 9, 2010 by lindamackie

Recently my dad had about 2000+ old family photos scanned and burned to disk dating back to the early 1900s, some of which we’ve never even seen til now. I’m slowly posting them to my ‘show me more’ galleries…check them out here, they are quite something!
