The Details: How It Works
Step 1: Strategizing for Success
Before we dive into the photoshoots, we'll kick things off with a chat so we can get to know each other, which is key because our connection will shine through in your photos.

After that, with my guidance, you'll fill out my signature and detailed Brand Clarity and Strategy Guide questionnaire. Then we'll hop on a laid-back online planning session to chat about the nitty-gritty details and figure out what photos will truly capture and boost your brand's essence.
​
You'll come away from this with a plan for the year ahead, which we can update before each shoot, that will provide you with the clarity, direction and strategy you need to get the best results for your photos and your business.
Step 2: The Shoots
When each shoot day arrives, we'll be all set with a custom plan for our locations, styling, and the stories we want to capture, as well as a timeline to keep us right on track.

Now, your only job is to be you, and enjoy yourself. We're essentially going to hang out, have a great chat, and just make some wonderful memories – all while snapping those beautiful, genuine shots of the real you.

I'll be here to guide you, keep the conversation flowing to bring out those natural expressions, and shine through your body language. I'll be offering tips and making adjustments as we go, so you'll always feel comfortable and look your best.

Most of all, we'll have fun!
Step 3: Await the Magic
You've done your part! Now leave the rest to me.

While you get back to business, I will carefully curate the finest images from our shoot, apply subtle edits, and within 1-2 weeks, you will receive a link to your personalised online proof gallery, where you can handpick your 15 preferred photos.
​
After your selections, I'll address any additional editing requirements, or you can immediately download the images to your computer - and you're set to confidently share your new images to your heart's content!

How often do the shoots happen?When we start the process, we'll pick three shoot dates for the year ahead. The first session could be between January and March, the second between April and June, and the third between August and early December. But we can start at any point in a calendar, so just let me know when you want to start!

What do I wear to the sessions?There's no hard fashion rules when it comes to picking your outfits for photoshoots - and I will happily offer you some pointers on what will make your photos pop during our chats! In a general sense, it's best to avoid bold patterns, dark colours near the face, and any clothing that requires lots of adjustment to feel right. Reflect on the outfits that make you feel most 'you', and remember this is a great opportunity to show your brand colours through your styling as well. Having a few outfit changes at your session is a great idea because it adds some spice to your photos. Considering that you'll likely be sharing these snaps on social media, it's great not to be rocking the same look in every shot. We can mix it up by having a different outfit for each story we're capturing. And don't forget, you can switch things up within a single story by changing small details like jewellery or accessories.

Where will we do the sessions?I want your images to tell your unique story, and the backdrop we choose is a big part of that. We'll be a team in selecting locations that match your style and brand. I'll certainly offer my suggestions, but I also want you to have a say in finding spots that resonate with you personally. From your home, your office, your yard, or any 'third place' that's important to you or represents your brand well - we can explore all possibilities, and which best convey the vibes you want!

What about hair and makeup?This one's up to you. If you prefer a professional touch, we have a fantastic team of professional makeup artists who do fantastic work. If you're keen, just give me the green light, and we'll get it scheduled. We'll coordinate our timing, but plan on setting aside approximately 1.5 hours for the hair and makeup session. It's all part of ensuring you look and feel your absolute best!

Why 3 sessions - not 4?Based on my experience, 3 sessions within a calendar year is ideal for keeping your images fresh and avoiding overwhelming you or creating scheduling issues. I've learned that this setup offers you the best value while still setting us up for success and keeping it very doable! That being said, if you'd prefer more sessions, we can discuss options together for a custom plan!

Where are you located?I'm based in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island and have a home-based studio with both indoor and outdoor options. I also often shoot on location, whether it be at your place or other favourite location.

I just need a headshot, how much does that cost?For headshots, I offer The PORTRAIT Express session for $490 that includes a one hour session in my home studio + two fully edited images in colour and black and white for printing and sharing online.

What are your personal brand photography packages?My personal brand packages begin at $2500 and go up from there depending on the number of images and scope of your project. I highly recommend booking a discovery call with me so I can walk you through my creative process and options for the very best results depending on your specific needs.
